The city is vibrant with brightly painted house, long coastline. The seat of Lord Jagannath is renowned for deep faith in religion, rich cultural heritage, architecture, grandeur and beauty. Being one of the four sacred dhams of Hindu, the place has special significance.  The wooden sculpture of Jagannatha, Balabhadra and Subhadra are the main deities of the temple. The rath yatra (chariot festival) gathers large crowd for all over the country. The other magnets in Puri are Gundicha temple referred to as garden house of Jagannatha, cremation ghat know as Swargadwar is said to be the place where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu disappeard, Ballighai beach reflects beautifully during sunset and sunrise. District museum displays variety of garments worn by Lord Jagannatha, local sculptures and craft work and palm leaf manuscripts.

How to Reach: The nearest airport is 60kms at Bhubneshwar. The city offers convenient rail link connectivity with direct express and super fast train links from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The city is well connected with road transport, the bus stand at Gundicha temple provide buses to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in every 10-15minutes.
